Workshops

I run small workshops with a maximum of eight people. The workshops tell participants all about the Alexander Technique so they can decide if they wish to go on to have lessons.

Included in the programme are some practical work, a short DVD, a demonstration and a guided lying-down session ( 5 minutes)

This combination of group and individual work gives you a unique opportunity to find out all about the Technique and to make an informed decision about whether to it is something you wish to pursue.

    Workshop Content
  • Introduction of Tutor and Participants and brief discussion of their reasons for wanting to find out about the Technique.
  • Very brief history of F.M.Alexander and how the Technique was developed.
  • Directed activities (games) to illustrate the power of habit and faulty sensory appreciation.
  • Feedback and questions.
  • Demonstration of the Technique (on volunteers)
  • Break for 15 minutes.
  • DVD during which the tutor works with the participants.
  • Directed activities (games) to illustrate habitual postural sets and “end-gaining”
  • Feedback and questions
